The Case for US Border Security. What most will NOT say. Or Admit.

The attached video is a fair recap of US Border Security and issues around having a wall. The video asks questions that should be considered. Watch the video:

Often left out of the debate around US Mexican border security is the right of American "Citizens" to be protected from threats to their safety. It is true that border security creates adverse consequences. However, the lack of border security also creates adverse consequences to American Citizens.

Most commentators opposed to effective border security ignore the benefits to Mexico of relaxed restrictions on movement of people and goods across the US Mexican border. The Mexican economy and government have countless rewards from this "open order". These include the movement of drugs, capital, goods, and people who might otherwise burden the Mexican government due to the lack of work.
Why do some American political leaders think the risks to America and the benefits to Mexico of relaxed border security is good for America? There are several theories, none of which explain the  risks to American citizens.
Often times, we hear politicians say that a policy that "saves even one life" is worth pursuing. Open border policy actually has the opposite effect of creating safety and economic risks for Americans.
It is true that many crossing the border mean no harm to Americans. But an open border policy allows people with bad intentions in to harm Americans. For these reasons, most countries in the world spend considerable effort to control their borders.
The Simple Truth is that one of the key responsibilities of a national government is to protect it's citizens from external threats. Of any kind: Economic, military, health, or unwelcome occupants of its territories.
NOTE: The video may seem to lean in favor of open borders but provides useful information on the issue that readers should understand to discuss the issues around illegal immigration and border security.
